ETHICA WINES USA CATALOGUE

• Founded by one of Sicily’s visionary grape growers and winemakers, Dr. Mario Di Lorenzo, who saw the potential for international grape varieties on the island. • High-altitude vineyards benefit from diurnal temperature shifts and natural ventilation that keeps the grapes health and extends ripening times. • Proximity to the Mediterranean Sea provides maritime influence, mitigating hot summer weather and protecting vines from excessive cold during winter. • Soils rich in clay and calcareous limestone are ideal for the production of international grape varieties like Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. • Cultivation of the Sicilian native grape variety Nero d’Avola gives the winery’s Ventu unique local character. • Ventu means wind in Sicilian dialect, a reference to the excellent ventilation that keeps the grapes cool and healty and makes for freshness in the wines. • Aria means air, another reference to the gentle breeze that rises up from the Mediterranean to the high- altitude slopes. • Baglio (bah-YL’EE-oh) means farmstead in Sicilian dialect. It denotes a farm where with crop diversity, an element that bolsters biodiversity on the property.
