• Run by a young and passionate couple, Flavia Del Seta and Francesco Galgani, who are committed to produce organically farmed Vernaccia di San Gimignano using a minimalist intervention approach to vinification. • 8 hectares (19 acres) of vineyards. • Organically certified winery which employs several biodynamic practices to enhance the biodiversity and “humus” or life in their soils. • The wines are intended to be the purest expression of the indigenous grape variety and appellation. • Vernaccia was the first Italian white wine to receive DOC status in 1966 and is today a DOCG. • Each of their bottlings of Vernaccia di San Gimignano is vinified using spontaneous fermentation. • Clara Stella is a perfect, mineral and refreshing alternative white, ideal for by the glass programs. • Prima Luce is an orange wine refined on its lees in traditional terracotta jars for at least one year. • Elevation: around 300 meters above sea level (1000 feet). • Mineral soil rich in rocks and fossils dating back to the Pliocene era.
The owners of Cappella Sant’Andrea named their wine Clara Stella after daughter Clara and the fact that she is the “star” or stella of their lives. They named another wine Prima Luce or “first light” because the sun rises over the parcel where the grapes are grown before any other.
